Good Beer Guide Tick #542 - The Bay Hotel
More miles on the Cleveland Way, today walking from the iconic Robin Hoods Bay, famous as the end of Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk.
Getting a parking space is also a success - we arrive at 9:30am and the bottom car park is full, with the overflow going a bit wacky races. By the time we return, it's chaos.
A few moments to get our bearings and its out on the Cleveland Way, on the high cliffs with fine views across the bay. Stunning walking but little variety, with the exception of a handful of geocaches.

The turnaround point is the caravan park at Hawkser Bottoms. I had planned us to return along agricultural footpaths but an arrow straight disused railway was too tempting to ignore. We can put up with the annoying dings of superior bike riders bells in exchange for Guide Dog in training Abi not eating cow pats.

The big decision of the day is whether to take the steep paths down to the village. Eagle eyed blogfans will now that we haven't sourced a pint, so Mrs M was outvoted 2-1. I knew bringing Son #1 would bring benefits. Its a free for all of confusion but I do manage to source a 12:05pm table outside the Bay Hotel.

Their interpretation of the rules is you queue at a little serving hatch, pay and the drinks are delivered to your table. I worked this out at around 12:30pm.
Theakstons Best, Adnams Ghost Ship and strongbow stuffed into plastic glasses did not dampen our enthusiasm for a fine day out.
Even when the rain came.
