17/12/13 - Christmas Fayre

Distance - 3.1 Miles
Geocaches - 15
First Cache

Hanbury Walk at EveryTrail

8 days till Xmas and I am looking for festive entertainment.

A Christmas lunch is planned but how to get into the mood?  How about a 14 cache Christmas based round in some gloriously unseasonal weather?

The hardest part is finding the parking place, despite it being pre-programmed in the sat nav from a previous walk.

Top Place to Start
Find me a finer place to start a walk.
All downhill at the start.  Superb views that make even a lazy Labradoodle smile.

Lets get this party started
All this is ours to explore
The caches are perfect for our needs.  All nice and simple and within the pre-requisite distance to not make the Geohatter upset.

Our favourite stretch is through the spooky trees.

Spooky Trees
Only the background sky belies their spookiness
Number 6 is a multi.  On approach, we do wonder how the necessary information can be extracted from seemingly nothingness but some clever use of what is there enables us to get a find.

However, when we arrive at the bounty, we have to wait for our only muggles of the day to pass by.

We work our way out of the grounds (slightly) only to head back in for my first ever pass of the house.

Duck Pond
Come back in by the duck pond
Hanbury Hall
To re-enter next to the house
Lord of the Manor
For a bit of Mappiman Posing
We have had a successful day.  All found - including the bonus co-ords.  Thanks to thebedfords for a perfect festive round of lovingly made home made caches.  Perfect for today's needs.

Get back just in time to meet our friends, the Baylisses, for our 3rd Christmas dinner of the season.  The free psycho therapy comes with the crackers.

Super day.
