Distance - 5 Miles
Geocaches - 0

Stage 8 of the Heart of England Way is not detailed in the guide book as per the other stages.  It provides a choice of linear walks but no commentary on a circular route.  It's as if the author doesn't think its worth your time.

The official route takes in 2.5 miles of a country lane which is now "a long stretch of a busy road, without a footpath".  The unofficial route takes in a short distance of a private road, Heathley Lane,  which is regularly walked by locals.

Even less promising it describes Drayton Bassett thus....  "I am afraid that this, the first sizable village after leaving Lichfield, has no shops or pub!".

It also has no geocaches.

There's nothing here for me.

For the first time in 6 years of blogging walks - we have a virtual walk.  One completed from the comfort of my armchair and recorded to avoid a gap in the Heart of England Way.

I'll be back for Stage 9 at the end of December.
