This certainly ranks highly in the most beautiful walks we've completed. It looked good in the guide book, a mixture of forest - coast - extensive sand dunes. In execution, it takes your breath away.
We start in the dry (on a Monday) village of Newborough. There is a pub - the White Lion Hotel - it opens at 16:00 on a Tuesday. I am sure you will pass one on your way home. We did.
Through farmland and then a good mile and half through a dense forest. The shade provided was welcome and the occasional peek through the trees heightens expectation as to coming vistas.

We are met with a perfect bay. Golden sands stretching as far as the eye can see. The Snowdonian mountains on the opposite shore. Llanddwyn Island - with a ruined church, celtic cross, lighthouse and pilot cottages to be explored.

| A little closer |
Following island discovery, its a long walk along the beach to the public footpath that runs alongside the forest edge. Sand dunes provided the final variety of terrain to ramble across today.
A beautiful walk. Next time, we will bring towels and include wild swimming. Photos will not be shared.
